Due Process:
Due process refers to the legal requirement that the government must
respect all legal rights owed to a person, ensuring fair treatment through the
judicial system. It is enshrined in the 5th and 14th Amendments of
the U.S. Constitution, which protect individuals from arbitrary government
actions that could deprive them of life, liberty or property.
When a violation of due process offends the rule of law, due process
protects individuals from government harm.
